C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS

Here are some images of the ATLAS comet. The comet will be visible through the end of the week. The comet is visible naked eye with a long tail and bright comet head. The comet can be imaged with a cellphone or DSLR.

The comet can be found in the western skies just after sundown smack in the middle between Venus and Arcturus. Venus will be the brightest star in the sky near the west-southwest direction and can be visible just before the sun sets.

Imaging details:

Phone: Increase exposure to 3 seconds point and shoot. If you like a closer shot just zoom.

DSLR: 5-8 seconds of exposure, ISO1600, Approx 200MM lens. The tail is extremely long so you don’t want to be zoomed in to much so you can capture most of it.
